Lyric Lounge Lincolnshire made the first of its three stops in the county in Stamford on Saturday, July 23.
A spectacular temporary performance space was created in the Voodoo Lounge downstairs at Mama Liz’s in North Street and writers and performers of all ages came along, listened in, got writing and even performed, alongside renowned spoken word artists Adisa, Byron Vincent and Hannah Jane Walker.
Day events were free
12noon – Workshop with Hannah Jane Walker. Hannah’s poems have been described as magical and muscular. Last year she made her first solo show in Edinburgh 2010. The show is heading to Australia in September.
1pm – Centre Excuse – Electro/pop/punk from local darlings.
2pm – Hannah Jane Walker LIVE. Hannah hit the stage before heading off to Latitude and other summer festivals.
3pm – Writing Workshop with Adisa, a true wordsmith.
4pm – Lyrical Teatime. Perform your work at this open mic session in front of an audience.
7.15pm – Join members of the Stamford Senior Youth Theatre as they perform alongside spoken word magician Adisa.
