Maria Taylor
Maria Taylor is a poet and reviewer living in Leicestershire. She is Greek Cypriot in origin and was raised in London before moving to the Midlands and has had work published under her maiden name of Maria Orthodoxou. She has been published in a range of magazines including The North, Staple, Obsessed with Pipework, The Coffee House, Tears in the Fence and others. Her reviews have appeared in the Times Literary Supplement, and Under The Radar. In 2012, a debut poetry collection will be published by Nine Arches Press.
Maria is a keen participator in local writing activities, reading with the Nottingham Poetry Series in 2011, performing at Word and also at the Southwell festival in 2010. She also teaches within the community and is a part-time lecturer at DeMontfort University. Maria is also an occasional editor for Hearing Voices, the magazine published by the arts organisation Crystal Clear Creators.
She is married to the writer Jonathan Taylor and has twin daughters. She will be performing at Lyric Lounge Northampton.
