Grey Gibson is a writer, artist and cross-arts creative facilitator. She has degrees in English and Fine Art and started her career as a journalist and editor in the United States. She then moved to the UK and ran a marketing, design and contract publishing consultancy for 15 years accumulating extensive copywriting and editorial experience. Her company was the subject of a Channel 4 education documentary.

Grey now concentrates on her own work as a writer and multi-media artist. She is particularly interested in encouraging creative play and critical thinking and expression through cross-arts activities. She uses a mix of drawing, writing, painting and other arts to encourage adults and children struggling with issues of self-esteem and lack of confidence. She is an accredited national Arts Awards adviser and a creative facilitator working with various groups including the youth arts charity LIFEbeat.

“Creative play through writing, drawing and other arts activities and games reconnects us with our imagination. The capacity to enjoy and express ourselves creatively can and should be enjoyed by us all, not just a talented few,” says Grey.

“Sometimes we worry too much about the end result rather than having fun and playing with the process. We need to recognise that the journey can be just as exciting and stimulating as the destination.”
